If you’ve been looking for a powerful digital camera that you can rally around then the Canon PowerShot G7 is really going to reach out and grab your attention.

For those serious about digital photography this camera is essentially, to put it bluntly, a blessing. The 10.1 megapixel camera may be overkill for the non aficionado who is more of a casual everyday point-and-shoot picture taker, but for the serious digital photographer there will be no shortage in knowing what to do with all of these megapixels.
The PowerShot G7 will give you unlimited cropping power and make crystal clear enlargements.

One of the key features that make this camera really special (besides the 10 megapixels) is the 6X optical zoom that it comes equipped with. You’ll be able to target in on your subject quickly and easily no matter what your distance, and be able take the shot with the confidence of a sniper due to the Optical Image Stabilizer that it comes equipped with. Imagine the crystal clear close-ups that you’ll be taking with these powerful tools.

You’ll be able to see your amazing photos very nicely on the 2.5 inch LCD monitor…and with the wide viewing feature you’ll know in a matter of seconds if your shot is a keeper or not. Then again can you really miss with these features so far?

Now even though you’re probably exhausted thinking of the possibilities – I hate to tell you – but it doesn’t end there…not by a long shot (okay, pun intended).

It’s only fair to mention that all of the Canons G series cameras have ideal image quality, but the PowerShot G7 raises the stakes by offering the DIGIC III Image Processor with Face Detection Technology. So now, your pixel count is even better, giving you even sharper clearer photos, and to top it all off, the processing jumps up to 2X as fast as well. Now you’ll have time to get in and out of shots much more quickly so there’s no chance in missing that all important money shot that’s out there waiting for you.

No need to worry about battery life due to the addition of the DIGIC III Image Processor. Canon has taken care of that little problem for you ahead of time by adding low power consumption into the Processor itself. Better shots for longer periods of time.

Often the problem of low clarity occurs when you’re photographing a high action sports event or something similar such as a football game. The zooming in and out of such an event causes you to lose a touch of brightness from your photos, but with the careful engineering of the lenses – as well as the never before used on digital SR coating – you can eliminate any fear of loss of brightness or ghosting in your pictures.

Another common problem for photographers is nighttime photos. Cannon tackles this problem by adding a very effective nighttime mode setting which exposes the background automatically and delivers a slow flash, giving the perfect night photos like you never thought possible with a digital camera.

Now… if you’re feeling a bit lazy and not in the mood to adjust all of your own shots then of course the PowerShot G7 is equipped to handle that as well with its auto-mode. You can virtually point and click in this mode, but with all the power of this dynamic camera. No harm in putting such a powerful camera as this in the driver’s seat now and then. You can manually control the shutter speed or aperture mode settings or let the auto-mode take over that aspect for you as well.

In a nutshell, the serious and excited photographer will be grinning ear to ear once they’ve gotten their hands on the Canon PowerShot G7, and getting out of their hand will be a struggle in and of itself. You can’t go wrong with this camera if you’re serious about what you do.
