The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28K is an improved version of Panasonic’s Lumix FZ18 model. This model of the super zoom series comes equipped with better resolution, bigger screen, and HD movie recording apart from certain other modifications related to interface. There are many modifications and differences between this model and its predecessor as this model is primarily an improvement over its earlier FZ18 model. However, the earlier model received rave reviews and is widely appreciated by professionals and amateurs alike. Therefore, this camera is one of the better ones on offer in its range.

One of the bigger improvements is that the resolution of this model has been increased when compared against the earlier one. This is a 10.1 megapixels camera while the FZ18 was 8.1 megapixels. However, the calling card of this model is its 18x zoom which can result in a range of 27 to 486 mm and a focal ratio of f2.8 to f4.4. Furthermore, this model also boasts of a bigger screen with the dimensions increasing from 2.5 inches/207 k to 2.7 inches/230 k. This results in the FZ28’s screen giving a lot more details.

The new model also has a quicker burst mode which can shoot low resolution frames at a significantly higher speed of up to 13 Frames Per Second (FPS). Additionally, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 holds an AF tracking mode that can keep moving subjects sharp and detailed instead of blurring them. Another change is that the video recording now supports High Definition (HD) movies and can be directly linked to HD TVs. All these changes mean one thing. The earlier model, i.e., the FZ18 was a hit with users and this camera is a much better version of it. Hence, this camera would also be able to charm and woo the users quite easily.
