The entire lot of digital cameras can be broadly categorized into three different basic types: DSLR, which are large, bulky cameras that use a complex mirror assembly to take high quality pictures; compact cameras that can be held in the hand and use small sensors to capture the images; bridge cameras that function similar to DSLR, but are lighter in weight because they lack the mirror assembly. The Fujifilm Finepix S100FS is one of the few remaining cameras that fit into the bridge category.

This camera possesses some unique features, such as a large 2/3 inch 11.1 mp sensor, 14.3 x super zoom lens, and settings that allow you to simulate different grades of Fuji film.
